Reflections and Designs - 3

The text is centred for the first logo I finalised, I think it is stationary and gives it integrity. There are different alternatives for different contexts, e.g. the position on a page, different signage, etc.

Reflections and Designs - 2

After reading about the design process for the Metreon and the Pittsburgh Children’s Museum I decided to sketch a few designs for the initial brainstorming. This helped a bit, when I when went to the computer I already had some design possibilities.

I tried a few random shapes that I thought might create bit of a modern Australian feel but I think they just look a bit haphazard and casual. I want the round image to gain immediate recognition from the viewer so that it is used to identify the Berrima airport and not always the typeface. I didn’t use a gradient in the design because I thought it might lose its quality when the logo is reduced.

Reflections and Designs - 1 (the real one)

These are the first few designs for my logo. I experimented with different circles and tried creating the orbit effect, I think they are a good graphic element to represent an international airport, with anticipation of the viewer associating them with the world, a globe, a flight path from one side of the world to another.
