Letterhead
The letterhead also has the secondary graphic, the type is in the same blue and font as the businesscard, and the copy is also Myriad Pro. I gave the text a large margin on the left to make a bit of space as the secondary image underneath comes from the left and is quite large.
Corporate Colours
After doing the presentaion, i found out that these four colours would be too difficult and expensive to print. I would change them to just pantone 2606C and pantone 3015C and have the other colours as transparencies of these.
Business Card
The first business card I made had the square version of the logo. It looked out of place and the logo image looks too big.
I changed to the long version of the logo which fits in well with the rest of the type. I made my secondary graphic at this point. I tried making the graphic out of the image i used for the logo but decided to go with something completely different and unique. To stick with the sci-fi theme but also with reference to book i made an alien hand holding a book. I wasn't exactly sure how to do it but think it turned out OK. For uniformity I used the same colours as the logo but added grey and black which make the secondary colours.

Logo go mobile
This is the logo i decided on for Rings of Saturn Publishing.
I wanted the logo image to suggest the name so it does look familiar to Saturn. The 'rings' of Saturn are incorporated with coloured bars in the circle (thats why I didn't choose to do a gradient). The rings I tried to make in the previous logo looked too large and were unsuitable so to make reference to Saturn I included just one ring around the circle. I initially chose green and purple colours because I the green reminds me of sci-fi but changed to blue and purple instead.

And decided on century gothic bold for the logotype - i think it looks modern and fresh, it sits well next to the image and its easy to read. The way the text is arranged in different sizes and with 3 different colours the company could be recognised by the logotype as well as the image.

Logo Design
These are the first stages of my logo design. I tried to incorporate the ideas of some of the logos i found into my own designs. I actually found it really difficult and just wanted to pick up a pencil and paper and draw the logo instead of making it on the computer, so maybe instead of trying to make a certain shape that I liked in someone else's logo I should have just looked at them all as a whole for inspiration and then designed my own. These are the different logos i came up with at the start, i don't think any of them work too well but i guess that in the first stages experimenting leads on to a better design.
I think typography is really important and can set a logo apart from the rest. I liked the typography in this logo and tried to create something similar with the way the word saturn was written, i think it has a very sci-fi feel to it and would like to have used it in my final design but it doesn't really fit in with the image i made. I also tried something similar to the image here but don't like the way the shapes are restricted in a box.
I found this Zen logo interesting and tried to incorporate the handwritten font in my own. I wanted to create something modern and a bit different so I tried a brush technique to create the rings. I decided that both the rings and the font would lose their detail once reduced.
